NOMAD - THE NORDIC WORLD MUSIC NETWORK

Nomad is a collaboration between Selam (Sweden), Rikskonserterne (Norway), Foreningen for Verdens Musik (Denmark) and Global Music Centre (Finland). Nomad is a network focusing on Nordic World Music and promoting the image of the Nordic countries as multicultural societies.

The network, which is supported by Nordic Culture Fund, has resulted in several collaborations concerning festivals dealing with both Nordic and international artists. Nomad also promotes Nordic world music artists both regionally and internationally. This is done through the CD compilation called New Nordic Vibes I and II, brochures, this website and through participating at Womex and Tune In.

Nomad is also trying to lift the issues of political influence and cultural diversity in the Nordic countries through seminars at the Tune In conference, an annual event initiated by Selam, www.tunein.se.
